FUNDA FLANMA

Getting to know the Funda Flanma Foundation

Through our travel agency, Avila Reizen, we have been partnering with Funda Flanma Foundation in Venezuela since its founding in 2010. Funda Flanma has been a development and aid organization since 2006, formed by a group of professional Venezuelan women and housewives who were concerned about the extreme poverty in which many other women, teenage mothers, and children in Venezuela live.

For this reason, Funda Flanma launched a "Moviamasdecasa", an aid program that trains women in developing socially productive micro-projects and teaches them family economics. The goal of this program is to improve the financial opportunities of women, as well as the skills of their families and communities, through microcredit. Thanks to this program, approximately 3,000 housewives in various regions in Venezuela have received training.

Humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

The initiative was established as a sustainable program to support, guide, train, and provide ongoing technical and professional development for women, teenage mothers, and homemakers who want to improve their quality of life. Unfortunately, Venezuela entered a humanitarian emergency in 2018, making basic needs such as food, water, and other essentials, like toilet paper, increasingly unavailable to the local population.

As a result, the daily lives of the Venezuelan population became entirely focused on survival. Funda Flanma therefore established a food program to provide food for children living in communities experiencing extreme poverty.

This humanitarian crisis prompted the Avila Foundation, in partnership with the AmmanyA Foundation, to purchase a house in Sucre, Venezuela, where the Funda Flanma Foundation can now provide 150 children with a hot meal every day, and help them develop into a hopefully better future.
